You can recruit lesser ninjas by using his trap in your hand as a cost.
Since there is no same name turn 1 restriction, if you can secure the cost, you can recruit the same name.

However, there is a small caveat. That's just for ADS though.
Normally, when you Special Summon a monster with ADS, the left is the front Attack Position and the right is the front Defense Position, but with the nouveau effect, the left is the front Defense Position and the right is the back Defense Position. In other words, if you click the right side without looking at the screen, even though ADS is OK and you're going to use face-up defense, it will come out on the back side. I've actually done it twice.
I can't put it out in Attack Position.
